In some cases milk was applied to make a luster effect on the glass. They eventually ended up known as Kakamba Prosser beads, named following the town in the Republic of Congo wherever they had been traded. Prosser beads started to fall away from favor within the early 1900’s when more elaborate glass bead layouts ended up launched in Africa. The
